Renting? Living in a block of flats?
Most expats rent. You'll need the landlord's consent, and in a block of flats the housing community must agree to an outdoor unit on the facade or balcony. The installer can prepare a short technical description for the request – we'll help you with it in Polish.

A standard installation of a split unit up to about 4.5 kW with up to 3 m of piping starts at about PLN 1,730 incl. 8% VAT. A 3.5 kW unit including installation is usually PLN 2,800–4,000 (budget brands) to PLN 4,200–7,000 (premium brands).
I rent my flat – can I install AC?
You need your landlord's written consent, and in a block of flats the housing community (wspólnota) or cooperative must agree to an outdoor unit on the facade or balcony. We can help with the request in Polish.
Will the installer speak English?
We pass English-language requests to installers who can communicate in English, and we can help with the Polish paperwork.
Do I need a permit?
No building permit is needed for a typical unit up to 3 m high. In listed (historic) buildings the heritage conservator must agree.
Can the AC heat in winter?
Yes. Modern split units are air-to-air heat pumps and heat efficiently even below freezing – useful in spring and autumn.
